The story of King of Wrath begins with Dante Russo, a billionaire businessman, being blackmailed into marrying a certain jewelry heiress, Vivian Lau—a very bitter pill to swallow for someone who thrives on control.
Vivian, with her elegant demeanor, creative mind, and a very sharp tongue, disrupts Dante’s world within weeks of her entry, leaving Dante scrambling to hold on to any little control he had left in his life. Suddenly, his thoughts were filled with her, eyes searching for her, and body craving her closeness. But what can you do when your body and mind want different things?

King of Wrath
She’s the wife he never wanted…and the weakness he never saw coming.
Ruthless. Meticulous. Arrogant.
Dante Russo thrives on control, both personally and professionally.
The billionaire CEO never planned to marry—until the threat of blackmail forces him into an engagement with a woman he barely knows.
Vivian Lau, jewelry heiress and daughter of his newest enemy.
It doesn’t matter how beautiful or charming she is. He’ll do everything in his power to destroy the evidence and their betrothal.
There’s only one problem: Now that he has her…he can’t bring himself to let her go.
***
Elegant. Ambitious. Well-mannered.
Vivian Lau is the perfect daughter and her family’s ticket into the highest echelons of high society.
Marrying a blue-blooded Russo means opening doors that would otherwise remain closed to her new-money family.
While the rude, elusive Dante isn’t her idea of a dream partner, she agrees to their arranged marriage out of duty.
Craving his touch was never part of the plan.
Neither was the worst thing she could possibly do: fall in love with her future husband.
King of Wrath is a steamy arranged-marriage billionaire romance. It includes explicit content and profanity. Recommended for mature listeners only.
Vivian always knew an arranged marriage was in the books for her, she was ready. What she didn’t sign up for, though, was Dante’s mood swings, his hot and cold nature, and the way her heart betrayed her each time the man was involved. She didn’t know what to make of the situation before her.
What could one of the most successful businessmen, a man of old money, want from her nouveau riche family? She felt trapped in a dark room, secluded from all the answers, yet she kept trapezing through the dark until she lost the thing most precious to her, her heart.
Characteristics
The author has captured the mood of forced marriage and arranged marriage perfectly in King of Wrath. The author portrays Dante as the classic wealthy and powerful lead you’d expect in a romance novel. He satisfies every expectation, and in any area where he falls short, his good looks more than make up for it. Loves, let me tell you, the man is F-I-N-E! And he is Italian!
Vivian beautifully balances out all the raggedness and edginess possessed by Dante. She, with her beauty, elegance, intelligence, and wit is the perfect lady to keep a man, of no bullshit, like Dante in check and on his toes.
All the crossovers of Christian, Kai, and Dominic not only blend in great, but also do an amazing job of making the reader curious about their stories.
Plot
Another highlight for me in the book has been the jealousy and possessiveness of Dante towards Vivian, even when he was unaware of it. Cause let’s be honest, who doesn’t love them, a hot, jealous, and possessive fake-to-be husband? I’ll be down to have one for myself any day.
The author adds the concept of a jealous fiancé facing competition like a perfect dash of spice, leaving a pleasing taste in its wake.
I love how the characters recognised the importance of good communication and incorporated it in their life, for the most part, to say the least. The growling and the character growth of Dante from an uptight, snobbish businessman to a man in love was something I love reading.
Although the main trope of the book wasn’t growling, unlike King of Greed, the growling still plays a small part—but a satisfying one nonetheless. Moreover, all the characters, whether main or side, have shown tremendous development. Whether it’s through a positive outlook, increased self-worth, or emotional understanding and maturity, they’ve each contributed to the story’s depth. Ultimately, they’ve shown me how important it is for everyone to accept and adopt a few changes—if not for themselves, then at least for their loved ones.
Let’s talk spice
The book is filled with open-door smut scenes. And if you know Ana Huang, you know the woman does not mess with her smut.
You will find all the intense moments you might have thought of in your wildest fantasies when you think of Dante. Each scene reflects his dominance, power, and love for control.
Content Warning: Blackmail, Emotional abuse, Family disownment, Parental neglect, Robbery at gunpoint
King of Wrath – Takeaway
I’d recommend the book to everyone who loves a good romance book, a possessive and easily jealous male lead, with a pinch of spice to leave you sweaty.
A good book with great witty humour, education on the ways of the rich, and our all-time favourite cast of the ‘King of Sins’ series.
