The Pucking Wrong Guy – Might Just Be the Pucking Right One

The Pucking Wrong Guy is about childhood love. A long-lost love rekindled. Ari is Lincoln’s best friend, the guy who stuck with him throughout, but now he has to leave. Leave and win his love over, and come back home.

But this simple plan poses a problem when your love has not only forgotten about you but also has a sweet boyfriend waiting for her. Ari, faced with no other way, takes the dark side.

The Pucking Wrong Guy – Blurb

I came to L.A. for my fresh start…and then my past showed up. I’ve moved on. At least that’s what I’ve told myself all these years after the boy from the streets left me to pursue his dreams. I have my own dreams now. And they don’t involve a 6’4 tatted hockey star who thinks he’s god. He tells me I’m the one. That he came back for me all those years ago… That he’s never going to let me go. The question is…is Ari Lancaster going to break my heart again? Or has my Mr. Wrong been the right guy all along…

Characters

Ari Lancaster is your everyday goofball. Ice hockey is his life until he stumbles upon his world, a photo of his love that he lost even before he understood what love meant. He had been searching for her for years to no avail. But that changes now, now that he has found her, he ain’t letting her go, no matter what he has to do.

Ari is possessive, protective, and mad for Blake. She is his queen, his everything. And as much as he wants to take her away, keep her safe, and close to him, my man is doing his best to control his instincts. That doesn’t mean he would leave any stone unturned, but place them in such a way that at every turn, she will only see him.

Blake was adopted young, expecting love—but received only harsh judgment. She has finally taken a step away from them, a step for herself, and toward her dream. She thought this was it. That now, she would live her life peacefully, but then came he, with all his god-like attitude to disrupt her life.

Blake is confident yet timid, bold yet insecure. She has had to face a lot of judgment from an early age, which leaves any child second-guessing themselves over and over. She thought she was making a new friend. A friend who somehow knew her saw her. A friend whom she was falling for, slowly, despite knowing that she shouldn’t.

The Pucking Wrong Guy – Vibe

The book has plenty of sweet bromance. The bond between Ari and Lincoln was amazing as it is, but now to the mix they have added another heart-throb, Walker. The three of them together means a 911 call on speed dial.

Even if Ari wants to control his instincts and not whisk Blake away to a remote island, his control is scoffed at by Lincoln. Yup, with a friend like him giving you ways on how to end up in jail, who needs an enemy?

Once you read this book, you’d find Ari doing many similar tasks that would surely land him in jail, maybe that’s why friends like Lincoln and Walker and necessary. So, my friends, if you ever fall in love and have the brilliant idea to kidnap your lover, first see who your friends are.

Let’s talk Spice

There are plenty of open-door spice scenes for you to enjoy in this book. And if you like to be praised while doing it, then Ari is your man. With his filthy mouth, praises just sound more pleasing.

Expect the same, if not a higher, level of smut than the first book. Of course, how intense it feels depends on what you enjoy most.

The Pucking Wrong Guy – The Takeaway

For me, this book didn’t give me the same kick as the first one. I loved Ari and Blake and their chemistry and dynamic, but somewhere it lacked the 5-star mark for me. I wish Ari were a little more unhinged, after the level Lincoln set in the first book.

I won’t say that Ari was normal, of course not, but his wiring was not that lose either. He would think things through as conclude what was still appropriate, as appropriate as anything could be after he stalked her and all.

Despite everything, I’d absolutely still recommend this book.

⭐ 4.8/5 stars: I wish Ari were just a little more unhinged…
